Boat Trip with Sealife Adventures :SNHG and Sealife Adventures are combining again to run a five hour boat trip with a landing on Jura. This trip allows us time offshore in addition to the areas covered by a 3 hour cruise. The trip starts at our private spacious car park and easy access pontoon on Seil, about 30 minutes scenic drive from Oban. Soon after leaving the pontoon we pass the Ballachuan Scottish Wildlife Trust reserve. Our wildlife guide will provide a series of talks about the unusually rich wildlife of the Firth of Lorn Special Area of Conservation, local history and legends. We visit the Corryvrechan, whose strong tides create a rich feeding area for marine mammals and birds including resident sea and golden eagles. Seals, porpoise, dolphins, otters, deer, feral goats and a wide variety of birds are seen on these trips, but no particular species can be guaranteed. In the appropriate season we hope to see whales and basking sharks on 4 hour trips, we spend longer in the best areas on a 5 hour. Outside the whalewatching season or if the weather dictates we have the opportunity to spend extra time within the more sheltered areas of the SAC. Your wildlife guide will serve hot drinks and biscuits and provide complimentary binoculars. There are bathroom facilities on board.
