This month’s field trip is to the Jubilee Bridge and Castle Stalker on Saturday 21st January 2012. We will meet at a layby on the main A828 road at GR NM929492 just above North Dallens where the newly laid ‘Sustrans’ track of the old dismantled Caledonian railway forms a perfect walkers and cyclists highway all the way to Appin village and beyond. The plan is to spend the morning walking to the Jubilee bridge and footpath around the shores of Loch Laich to the bird hide and then to return back north along the cycle track to The Knap and Dallens Bay. Finally returning to the layby mid-afternoon.
Please wear suitable clothing for the conditions with wellingtons or boots. A packed lunch is advisable as Castle Stalker View Cafe is closed during January. To reserve a place, please navigate to this event on the LORN community website and enter your RSVP.
